In the midst of reading 'The Horse and His Boy' - Vol. 3 in Narnia. Hmm, depiction of the characters in this book sound very central Asian to me - Curved scimitars etc. It's actually a good volume. 'The Magician' was tedious. 'The Lion' was too self-righteous. I like this one so far.

I'd updated my resources page (link on the right), included two more papers i'd written last year.

New recipe. Not quite sure if it works 100% yet, but here's what happened after 2 trials. Using Yukon potatoes (the variety is important here, i think) and Russet potatoes give you very different results when baked in the oven at 450 F for 1 hour. With the Yukon, you get the usual baked potato with skin - which is scrumptious. I love potato skins. Ok, needs to be washed and scrubbed thoroughly beforehand. With the Russet, you get a flakier end-result, with the potatoes crumbling into near mashed consistency. The skin is too hard to eat though. So... i found a quick way of getting pseudo-mashed potatoes. Not quite mashed, but crumbly enough. Add oil and salt when baking. Then sprinkle black pepper and salt at the end to taste. You can add in another ingredient to complete the meal. I used baked salmon fillet - flaked it.

I'm guessing the thin skinned potatoes give you edible skins.

I'm missing the Sweet potato 3 bean wrap from Marks and Spencer. It's the best tortilla wrap ever. Loads of yummy beans (including kidney) plus cubed sweet potatoes plus chunks of monterrey jack cheese. Really good combination of flavours. Plus it's meat-free. Definitely scaling down on terrestrial meat products.

Started to feel a little psyched up about spring break. 1 more week of classes. 1 week of exams. Almost there. I'm envisioning very bad jet lag and sleepless nights during spring break, no thanks to my flight schedules and travel times.
