Fits in perfectly with the Wallace Line transition though, located between Bali and Lombok (25km apart) where the organisms west of the Straits is of Asiatic-African origin, while organisms east of the Straits is of Austronesian origin. You'll only find birds of paradise to the east on Lombok and never on Bali.
Biogeography is so cool.
