How much do biologists detest math/physics?

I think a fair proportion. It's not just a neutral attitude, but a slight aversion for the whole subject. Note: biophysicists/bioengineers are excluded, because they very often start out as math/physics people, and then added bio to the picture. We are talking about true-blue authentic biologists - which are so varied a bunch.

Look at what biology encompasses - the study of life. It's huge. You can have evolutionary biologists, ecologists, ethologists, physiologists, cell biologists, mol biologists, biochemists, and the list goes on and on.

Haha... i think deep down, we biologists are all crappy at math/physics. That's maybe 1 unifying trait, among the different fields of biology. The times we need computation, we turn to physicists for help.

Note: Purely observational and not in any way indicative of any trends in the real world.

It's funny how things change in your life.

Always thought it was just me who's crappy at math/physics! Hah. And anyway, much of biology (not all) has an explanation to it; much of physics on the other hand, is "just because". I hate that part. It's simply such an inadequate answer.
