Chanced upon this elegant website by the Botanical Society of America which gives a good basic introduction to the various carnivorous plant genera and a bit about their phylogeny. Rather intrigued by the multiple evolutionary origins of these plants, seeing that they are widely dispersed in the Angiosperm clade. You have CPs in the monocots, in the eudicots (Rosids, Asterids, basal eudicots). Stunning group of organisms that struck on the same strategy for surviving in bad soil.

Reading "Teach Yourself Linguistics" - essentially an intro book.

Phonetics -> Phonology -> Syntax -> Semantics -> Pragmatics

Going to start off with a Phonetics & Phonology class in Spring.

Nice site indeed! Impressed that they included Triphyophyllum. Some of the info's a little off though - there are only 8 species of Sarracenia, and more than 7 Heliamphora species. Guess they can't keep reading about the new discoveries. And the photo under Drosophyllum isn't it ;) It's a Drosera binata.
