Went for a 21st party yesterday. Which felt more like a 'meet up with very old friends' event. Haven't seen them in at least 5 years. Which actually sums up what my life situation is like now. Huge gaping holes that gulf my life from singapore.
Huge crowds at the party - at least 150 people were there. Which got me thinking, that you always pick up new people along the way in your life, and this number will go on increasing, perhaps to a point when people start dying. You can choose to hold on to this increasing number of people and have burgeoning contacts on your IM client, or you could keep letting go of people with time and retain a core group.
I don't know which is better. It's not exactly a depressing thought, just thoughtful.
Do people change, or was it just that we never knew them well enough? I'm beginning to believe in the latter. There are certain fundamentals in a person that don't change, rather you are unaware of them, and when they do appear, you attribute it to change.
