Had a particularly mental lecture today. Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase (PEPC) in C3/C4 photosynthesis. Very fun! Erm, there was free booze today too, beer hour in the department. 1 glass of red on a somewhat empty stomach, bar carrot sticks and tortilla chips does get me rather 'off' in the heavens.. grin. Back on Earth. Eating satsumas, these are little oranges.. that come from the mediterranean.. they are much easier to handle than oranges, for their skins come off so EASILY.. no mess.. loads of juice too. Love them.


More on food: had this mexican wrap for lunch.. lovely guacamole sauce. Dinner was steamed chicken with leeks.. yum yum too.. leeks taste brilliant when steamed.. re-arranged my room furniture.. for the 2nd time.. in 1 week. Hmm.. more space now. Well.. illusions..


Let's learn something about this fine country, shall we? 1 pint of fresh milk, skimmed, semi-skimmed or whole.. costs 30 pence. 1 british pint = 568ml. Milk's cheap, innit? That's the price at Sainsbury's, one of the supermarket chains in the country. There's also Tesco, another market giant.. they even have branches in Bangkok, the last i heard...Think it's time to bury my head in journals, got quite a few piling up on my desk. They must be tackled...
